So much is going on over here and our time is so pressurized that it is almost impossible to find time to update this blog on a regular basis. I will try to hit the high points of the last few days.
The final two days of the Voice of the Apostles is mostly a blur of drunken glory as the team and I sought out and received prayer and impartation from the many amazing people there. It seemed like there was a magnetic pull of favour on us, we ended up getting prayer from almost all the speakers and even some of the people who were not on the program but are none the less being powerfully used by God. As we know first hand how the anointing and impartation can change everything, we were very deliberate and intentional in getting impartation and God did not disappoint us. We were rocked, blasted, fried, baked and pickled by John Arnott, Heidi Baker, Roland Baker, Georgian and Winnie Banov, Todd White, and Leif Hetland. I was glad to have Leif Hetland pray for us because we had to leave early and knew we would be missing his session, however on our final night we got into an elevator and there he was, so we plucked up our courage and just asked him to pray for us. He was amazingly gracious, he asked us where in South Africa we were from and when we told him we were from East London he shared how he had been to East London in 1994 and told us he would love to come back (that sounds like a good idea to me!) Then, because he had to rush off, he told us to find him at the end of the service and he would be happy to pray for us and our team of South Africans. He was as good as his word and at the end of the service called us together After asking us to tell him what God was doing in South Africa he prayed and released a blast which left us all on the ground, drunk, again 🙂
Since yesterday we have been in Richmond, Virginia. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The countryside is on fire with the glories of “Fall” as the Americans poetically call Autumn. I find myself saying wow, wow, wow, wow incessantly as each corner reveals another beautiful vista of the countryside. The trees drop their golden offerings to earth and, if it is true that in heaven the streets are paved with gold, then it would appear that heaven has invaded earth here in Richmond. It was the perfect backdrop for the two services we have had here. Last night we had an awesome service, about 60-70 people attended but most importantly the glory of God came. After the Pastor had introduced us, I got up and shared a few of the testimonies of what God has been doing in South Africa. The hunger in the air was palpable. I handed over to Corne. Love and joy seemed to drip off of Corne as he shared on God’s awesome love, and you could feel love and faith rising in people. When Corne handed back over to me, I read Rom 14;17 and shared on how God had used it to set me free, to break the lie that I was not pleasing to God and the consequences of that in my life and in our church. Then we moved into a time of ministry and the Holy Spirit fell! People were touched, some were healed some were filled with joy, others received prophetic ministry. When we left at 11:50, because the Pizza place we were going to was about to close, there were still people wanting prayer and ministry. I got to bed at about 2 a.m.
I woke earlier than I hoped and as I was unable to sleep decided to go for a walk outside. I felt refreshed by the time I came inside because everything was so beautiful! We only just got to church in time.
Church was wonderful. After worship Bradley (Staude) got up and shared how his life was changed by a radical love encounter with God that left him drunk for 5 days. He then shared with love, humility and power on how God healed his broken heart, cleansed him, brought deliverance in his soul and gave him a new life. It was awesome!!!! Then we asked those who wanted ministry for emotional healing and those who wanted to give their lives to Christ to stand. People stood all over the church, and a powerful time of ministry followed, some cried, some laughed some received prophetic ministry. It was awesome, did I say that already? Well it was! After that I shared our journey into revival and we ended with a fire tunnel for impartation and it was electric! People came through the fire tunnel again and again. We saw so many people getting rocked by joy, love and power. We saw several healings. One of my favorites was a woman who testified that she had come up for healing as she had suffered for a long time with pain from arthritis but even as she walked to the front before anyone prayed for her all the pain left. Another lady testified that she was delivered from a life time of fears when she was hit by joy and laughter. It was a lot of fun.
We are off to Redding in the morning, a little tired at the moment but very expectant. I am awed that this is us living this, that I am not reading this story but writing it. Wow! Wow! Wow! We are truly surrounded by glory!
