About Us
Infinite
Infinite is more than an organisation—it’s a way of life marked by God’s presence, power, and purpose.
Vision
Our vision is to be a dwelling place for the manifest presence of God—a people where the Holy Spirit is not hosted for a moment, but at home among us. We live to encounter Him, to carry His presence, live out His love, and make a lasting difference—not through ordinary means, but by embracing the extraordinary life we’ve been called into.
Mission
Our mission is to connect a generation to heaven—calling hearts into deep intimacy with Jesus and empowering believers to partner with Heaven in bringing revival and reformation to every sphere of society. We are raising up a mature Bride—passionate about His presence, grounded in love, and bold in faith—ready to transform cities and nations through the life of Christ within us.
Our Values
Presence and Intimacy
The deepest joy we feel comes from knowing and being fully known and loved by God. We don’t want to know God from afar nor settle for knowing about God but pursue a lifestyle of hearing God’s voice, experiencing his presence and displaying His power in our lives.
Love Lived
Love is the highest value in the Kingdom. We choose to live a life that demonstrates a love for God and people, not as man defines it but as Jesus demonstrated, in power with signs, wonders, miracles and ultimately a laid down life. Bringing the Kingdom through the preaching of the Bible and the demonstration of the Kingdom of God in power through the Holy Spirit.
The New Creation
When you become a Christian you begin a life. You have a new nature, a new identity and are called to live in the freedom that Christ has purchased for you. Consequently we pursue a life of honour which respects the boundaries of ourselves and others whilst endeavouring to fulfil our responsibilities to God and one another.
Bringing Heaven to Earth
The unseen realm is the parent of the visible realm. Jesus has paid the full price for us to access the resources of heaven to release revival and reformation across the earth and in every area of life. We believe in seeing God’s nature expressed in every sphere of society until we see a renewing of the world in reformation.
Generosity
Generosity is the key to revival. Jesus modelled for us a life of generosity and service. We trust God as our source, steward what we have and live to give.
Holiness and Grace
It is God’s power that produces the God life in us. By reliance on the finished work of Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit we pursue the holy, beautiful and fulfilling life Jesus died for.
Creativity
Each of us are made in the image of God who first manifested himself in our story as creator. Consequently, creativity is at the heart of what it means to be human and is essential to all progress and happiness in life. Therefore we value an atmosphere of freedom, fun, playfulness and childlikeness that fosters innovation, risk taking and growth.
Appreciation
Gratitude magnifies the joy in our lives and helps us to recognise the goodness of God towards us. We value remembering and rehearsing the testimonies of God’s work in our lives and taking time to worship, thank, honour and praise him.
Connection/Family/Tribe
In God the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit we see see the ideal of connection, family and community. We are made in the image of God and deep, meaningful connection is at the core of our being, a fundamental need for a healthy life. We value biblical family and seek to build a community based on family and connection.
Equipping
We have a passion to empower believers to partner with Heaven to shift culture in whatever realm of society they find themselves in. Raising up a mature bride, by equipping them to do the work of ministry to bring revival, reformation and the presence of Jesus to our city, country and the nations of the earth.
Meet the Team
Nigel and Debbie Desmond
Senior Pastors
Nigel and Debbie are ambassadors of God’s love. In the early 1990’s, Nigel and Debbie were part of a campus revival on the University of Cape Town that became the spearhead for a church planting movement spreading around the world. Together, they have planted several churches including the God Adventure church in East London that became a catalyst for revival impacting churches in South Africa, Europe, United States, and across the continent of Africa. Having both been radically transformed by the presence of God, Nigel and Debbie are passionate about bringing people into encounter with the manifest, tangible presence of God. They long to see His Kingdom coming through the dual expressions of revival and reformation. The couple bring trusted prophetic ministry, anointed preaching and teaching with miraculous signs and wonders. There is a strong sense of God’s presence accompanying their ministry. Currently leading a multifaceted ministry called “Infinite,” they live in Cape Town, South Africa with their four beautiful children.
Jessica Desmond
Pastor
Jessica began her journey on the stages of South Africa as a professional ballerina with Cape Town City Ballet. In 2019, she felt a clear call from the Lord to step onto a new kind of stage—joining her parents in full-time ministry at INFINITE Church in Cape Town. Now an ordained pastor, Jessica is passionate about seeing people encounter the real, transforming Presence of God in their everyday lives.
She also enjoys teaching “Dynamic Creativity” workshops that blend movement with ministry as well as Breathe classes alongside her mom.
Jessica’s heart is always to call people deeper into friendship with Jesus and into the unique passions and gifts He’s placed inside them. She carries a fierce love for family, freedom, creativity, and truth—but above all, for Jesus.
Mike Taberner
Small group and Church Leader
Mike has been part of the Infinite family from the beginning. During the week, he leads Brandesign Group, helping organisations grow through strategy, and on Sundays, he’s on stage playing bass and singing in worship.
Married to Karen since 1998 and dad to Emily and Sam, Mike loves encouraging people—whether through preaching, workshops, or coffee chats. He’s passionate about unpacking Scripture in practical, hope-filled ways.
When he’s not making music or shaping strategies, Mike dreams up creative ways for the church to serve the city and longs to see everyone step into their God-given calling.
Karen Taberner
Hospitality, Small Group and Church Leader
Karen is a lover and worshipper of Jesus, wife to Mike, mom to Emily and Sam, teacher, beach-lover, nature-appreciator, abstract painter, crafter, joy-filled “kid at heart”. Karen loves to encourage others using her prophetic gift to find the treasure hidden within. She has a passion to share the joy of the Lord wherever she goes.
Tim Mooney
Infinite Connections, Small Group and Church Leader
Timothy is a leader passionate about seeing people discover Jesus and His love for them. Empowering people spiritually and practically is core to his leadership style. Timothy often jokes that friendship with him will lead to you being empowered whether you like it or not, so proceed with caution!
At church, he co-leads the Men’s Ministry, creating space for men to connect, grow, and lead. He also leads the Welcome Team, where he ensures that everyone who walks through our doors feels seen, valued, and encouraged to get involved.
Tehila Mooney
Worship and Church Leader
Tehila Mooney is a passionate worship leader whose heart burns to see people encounter the presence of Jesus. She carries a clear mission: to lead people to the heart of God and to raise up joy-filled lovers of the Lord.
Tehila believes that worship is far more than a Sunday morning set list, it’s a life surrendered, a costly, wholehearted response to a worthy King who gave everything for us. With a heart of authenticity and a deep love for the Lord, she seeks to lead worship that not only exalts Jesus but also transforms lives.
Sue Le Marquand
Small Group Leader
Sue is a passionate follower of Christ who has spent over 40 years studying God’s Word with a deep desire to know Him more. She now runs her own travel business and loves exploring God’s creation, both in its beauty and through the people she meets. A devoted mom and loyal friend, Sue’s greatest joy is teaching about the Lord and sharing what He reveals to her with others. Her heart is to “feed His sheep” and see lives transformed as people seek God and walk in obedience to His Word. She especially loves leading small, informal groups where trust can grow, stories can be shared openly, and prayer brings freedom and healing.
Statement of Faith
1.We believe in one eternal and true God—Creator, Redeemer, and Sovereign King—perfect in holiness, justice, love, and truth. He exists infinitely and eternally in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
2.We believe the Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are divinely inspired, completely trustworthy, and hold final authority in all matters of faith and life.
3.We believe that although humanity was originally created in God’s image and for His glory, through disobedience, we fell into sin, bringing death, brokenness, and separation from God into the world.
4.We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully man.
5.We believe that Jesus was crucified, died for our sins, was buried, and rose bodily from the grave. He ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He reigns and intercedes for us today.
6.We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. It is the work of the Holy Spirit who convicts, regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and adopts us into the family of God.
7.We believe that the Holy Spirit continues His transforming work in believers, empowering them to live holy lives and to serve boldly. The baptism of the Holy Spirit equips believers for supernatural ministry and effective witness.
8.We believe that through the victorious work of Christ, believers are set free from the power of sin, deception, sickness, and torment.
9.We believe the Church is made up of all who have been redeemed through faith in Christ. Jesus gave His Church the sacraments of baptism and communion, and commissioned it to advance His Kingdom, confront darkness, proclaim the Gospel, and disciple the nations.
10.We believe in the ever-advancing rule of God’s Kingdom and joyfully await the glorious return of Jesus Christ, when He will come visibly and in power to reign with His people.
11.We believe in the reality of both eternal life and eternal judgment. At the final resurrection, the redeemed will enter into everlasting joy with God, while those who have rejected Him will face eternal separation.
