An Incredible Journey

It has been an incredible 22 year journey pioneering and leading two very different churches which have made a powerful impact in South Africa and abroad. Now we stand on the verge of another life changing move, back to the city where our adventure all began, Cape Town. It feels like our lives have come full circle. A lot of things have changed. We left as two students in love but return as parents of four beautiful children. When we went out many things were just untested theories now we have seen for ourselves the goodness and faithfulness of God. We left young, zealous, excited, in love with God and each other now we are older, zealous, excited, in love with God and each other. Some things never change 🙂

When we went out to Grahamstown those many years ago we did not have any other plan other than obedience to the Lord. It is the same on this new adventure. We know that he is calling us back to Cape Town but as yet he has not told us specifically what we will be doing. In fact we have been given many prophetic words that have confirmed that we are on a faith journey, that we are surrounded by darkness, not a darkness of the enemy but a good darkness from the Lord in which he is hiding the Mysteries of the next season. As Bill Johnson sometimes says “God hides things not from us but for us.” Recently Joshua Mills gave us a word saying he saw us ascending a golden, spiral staircase that God had predestined, but that each step only appeared as we stepped up onto it. That is a great picture of this time. We are taking one step at a time, one day at a time in confidence that God has lead us all this way, is leading us now and will lead us into the future.

What do we know then?

Bill Bennot, one of our spiritual fathers, gave us great advice. He encouraged us “to lean into” three things.
~ Lean into the Presence of God
~ Lean into the relationships that God has given you and is giving you.
~ Lean into what God has put inside you.

We carry the presence of God for churches, cities and regions

There are things that we do know and at the heart of that is the call of God on our family to host and carry the presence of God and spread revival and reformation in South Africa and across the world. So our starting place will be to live the message we preach and to draw near to God and seek his face that we would carry his presence to a greater degree for ourselves and others. We feel that whatever we build in and from Cape Town this has to be the foundation. Last year in November I (Nigel) received this prophetic word from Shawn Bolz whilst at the Bethel Leaders Advance:

“… what I saw is that you (Nigel) would be hosting the presence and that you would be doing series on hosting the presence that would draw in other churches from the region and that it would be so safe for the region that you live in..”

We have a passion to see the presence of God break into every area of life. To see homes businesses, schools, government buildings, places of recreation and churches transformed by the tangible, manifested presence of God. We believe this will increasingly occur as men, women and children yield to the Holy Spirit and partner with Him in their everyday existence.

We are “Renaissance People”

For many years Debbie and I have carried a passion and a burden for the Arts. We feel that there will be a beautiful, creative, artistic side to our next season. As yet we only have dreams, prayers and pictures of exactly what that will look like but we are expectant that in the fullness of time as we press into God this will grow organically into the fullness of what it is meant to be. Earlier this year I had the great privilege to meet James Goll who prophesied over me. Part of the word he gave me says;

“… it is a Renaissance Centre. It does deal with reformation because true reformation channels and empowers believers to cultural change… a renaissance centre because you are a renaissance man… training and imparting to and raising up the next generation to prophetically flow in the creative arts.”

We are servants of God, sent to his Church, to release rivers wherever we go.

Not only is God releasing rivers of his presence in this time but he is raising up leaders of all kinds, like the different kinds of trees spoken of in Is 41:17-20, who will provide covering, shelter and food to bring the Kingdom in the earth. Over the last 22 years Debbie and I have grown in our grace to work with, equip, raise, empower and release leaders into all areas of life, across many different movements and churches, to see the glory of God cover the earth as the waters cover the sea

Last year when Danny Silk was praying for us, he said, “I see powerful people that are drawn to help you be successful. I see resources, I see influence, I see favour streaming to you… I release the supernatural equipping centre.” In prophetic words from others it has been called a “revival centre for refreshing, healing and impartation…” or “more than just training centers, they are life giving launch pads into facilitating and carrying the supernatural presence of God”.

I was greatly encouraged and saw it as confirmation that God was indeed leading us to invite people to become partners in this adventure and secondly had sovereignly chosen this couple to lay the foundation of that partnership because they move in a ministry of signs, wonders and miracles around the world.
