Sometime last year I listened to a talk from TED on Awesomeness. The simple principle that the quality of one’s life can be vastly improved by celebrating and thereby capturing the joy of simple pleasures that occurs every day. So as a family we have decided that we are going to make this an “awesome sabbatical”. We are endeavoring to recognize and capture by photography and blogging at least one awesome moment in each day and then share it via the blogosphere. Come join us over the next three months as we celebrate life, each other and we look for the “whatever” moments in life. What ever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is right whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise dwell on these things.
Stop and Go.
On the way out to Morgan Bay we were confronted with the bane of travellers lives, a Stop and go. In front of us they was about a score of cars waiting to be allowed to continue their journeys. I was tempted to feel irritated, but as our chat in the car about our plan to have an “awesome “ time had only just concluded it was just the moment to seize the opportunity to find some fun. So Myself and the kids leapt out the car and climbed the bank to see who could get to the top first then I had a rock throwing competition with my son. All in all, the potential irritation became an awesome. Even if I lost the competition.
