VISION FOR PROPHETIC PRAYER JOURNEY IN FRANCE
Earlier this year God seemed to resurrect a dream we had a few years ago – a prayer journey through France.
We started asking God to confirm this to us and a couple of weeks later, at prophetic conference we attended by Ben Armstrong from Bethel, Redding, one of the team prophesied over Debbie, “I see you travelling – intercessory missionary journeys … I see you going to some places in Europe… I see you doing things in the spiritual that maybe a lot of people won’t understand but they are prophetic. They are prophetic, and almost like apostolic – you are really shifting things. Go ahead, go buy a plane ticket and do something crazy and maybe find a couple of friends to go with you. This is going to be fun. This is going to be really good.” This was our confirmation to start planning a prophetic prayer journey in France, “walking with Jesus,” to observe and participate in what the Father is doing in the nation.
In April, Debbie felt the Lord leading her to look at His creation of France at the very beginning – the land, the rivers, the mountains, the seas, etc. So she took out a physical map of France and started waiting on the Lord. The rivers and the mountain ranges were standing out to her. She felt her eyes drifting to the “branches” of the Seine River, and one in particular. She opened up the google map to look where this was in relation to towns etc. and as she did, she realised that this was actually what is considered the source of the Seine. She started reading the reviews of people who have visited this site and looking at the photos and discovered that this is also the site of the ancient worship of the pagan goddess Sequana (in Gallo-Roman religion). She felt that God wanting to heal the land of France and re-establish His creation word and purpose. We found it so interesting that a couple of months later, the Seine River was highlighted all around the world through the Olympic Opening. We don’t believe it is a co-incidence. God is doing something here. Please read Nigel’s blog regarding this opening and the word of the Lord He received regarding it

Faith sees something that we cannot see with our natural eyes. (Heb 11:1) We are praying for eyes to see what God is saying and doing. We have been given authority to co-operate with Heaven and through this faith and by His Spirit as we act in partnership with Him, we will see a shift that will inevitably have it’s manifestation in the natural too.
We see this demonstrated in 2 Kings 2:19
The men of the city said to Elisha, “Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.” “Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the LORD says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’ ” And the water has remained wholesome to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.
The pouring in of the salt was a prophetic act with which Elisha accompanied the word of the Lord, by which the spring was healed.
We are believing that God will show us His prophetic acts and words for the land of France as we go.
God is highlighting some gateways in France (these rivers) and He wants us to partner with Him in activating spiritual shift. These rivers, which we believe serve as gateways into France, are divine gifts from God created to be life-giving, sustaining and nourishing. Many ancient cultures worshipped rivers (or river spirits), they worshipped the created instead of the Creator Himself. God is our ultimate River of Life, our Spring of Life. His Spirit is the divine flow, the source of vitality and renewal that sustains us. Jeremiah 2:13 speaks of people forsaking God as their divine source., “for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.
Jesus is the living Word, the source of this life, and as we pray and release of His Word, we become gates of heaven releasing the outpouring of divine life across the land bringing renewal and vitality wherever it goes.
We are continuing to pray and listen to God over these places. Please will you share with us any of your thoughts, visions or insights from the Lord on any of these places and areas.
We are starting our trip in the South where we will be praying at Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, and particularly at the mouths of the Rhône river. Apparently it is believed that this is the area from which Christianity spread into Gaul. Debbie’s ancestor, Joseph of Arimathea, “the Marys” and several other followers of Jesus who were exiled from Israel, were set afloat by their persecutors in an oar-less boat without sail and landed on this stretch of land. This is such a gateway area in France, one just has to look at a map and see the mountains and river valley stretching up into France – it even looks like gates.
PRAYER APPROACH
Over the years, I’ve learned not to be overly impressed by what the devil is doing. His tactics can be distracting. They shouldn’t dictate where I place my focus or where I seek direction. It’s important to stay informed, but even more crucial to keep our eyes on what God is doing.
Elisha’s servant was terrified when he saw the enemy army surrounding them, thinking they were doomed. But Elisha, instead of focusing on the enemy, looked to God for guidance. In Genesis darkness once covered the earth, but God didn’t rebuke the darkness; He simply brought the light.
John 1:4 says, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
Matthew 12:28 states, “But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.”
Here, we see again how light and God’s Spirit displace darkness.
Our goal is not just to drive out darkness but to displace it—occupy the space with God’s presence. Our desire is to ask, “What is God doing? What is His word?” Then we bring His kingdom and His word and the darkness is flushed out, displaced by the Holy Spirit.
We are not in a fight with the devil—Jesus has already defeated him. Our task is to move forward, bringing light to the darkness and order to chaos. The real fight is the fight of faith, to believe God’s word and act on it. This journey is about seeking God, seeing what He is doing, and aligning ourselves with that.
Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.”
